Dan Jagode 2017.
Slatina lies about 6 Kms or so from where we live and to be honest I think it’s a village thats maybe more well known for its spar facilities than its fruit.
The Day of Strawberries is an event that show cases the quality of Strawberries grown in the immediate area, with displays of product (that I think forms a competition for strawberry geeks), and exchanges of information concerning strawberries from the local association.
Of course there are also the traditional and cultural aspects of such a gathering such as folklore dancing and socialising with good food and drink.
The weather this year was just what the doctor ordered and the visitor turnout high, judging by the number of cars that were parked along the approach roads to the village.
As I have said many times before, it’s being able to visit communities and events that are off the beaten track that makes being in the Western Balkans (for me), so special.
